Emily Johnson

Team Physio

Emily graduated with a first-class honours degree from the University of East London in 2011. She
began her career working for King’s College NHS Foundation Trust as an inpatient physiotherapist.
Here she provided physiotherapy to people in intensive care and rehabilitated patients following
brain and orthopaedic injuries, surgical procedures and medical conditions such as heart attack.

Emily moved to Kent in 2014 and began specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy while working
for Kent Community Health at Deal Hospital and Dover Health Centre. Here she progressed to being
the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist, a role which involved mentoring students and other
physiotherapists and developing the physiotherapy service. She also gained additional experience
working in private clinics in Ashford and Whitstable alongside her NHS work. In 2014, Emily
completed training with the APPI to become a Pilates instructor and now teaches this alongside her
work at Ash Physiotherapy Clinic.

Emily uses a combination of techniques to help improve pain and function, including manual
therapy, soft tissue mobilisation and acupuncture and strongly believes in providing education and
exercise therapy in order to prevent similar problems in the future and to maintain health and
function long term.
