Belinda Kotze

Team Physio

Belinda attained a BSc Physiotherapy (hon) in South Africa in 1997 and spent her newly
qualified years gaining foundational skills in hospital and outpatient settings, as well as
beginning her paediatric experience.

Since Belinda arrived in the UK in 2001, she has worked exclusively as a paediatric physiotherapist for babies, children and adolescents. Belinda has been privileged to work in renowned specialist and tertiary centres including Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Middlesex Adolescent Unit and Barts & the London NHS Trust; and she has gained specialist skills in Paediatric Rheumatology, Chronic Pain, Neurological and Orthopaedic conditions. Belinda has worked extensively in the community setting gaining further experience in complex needs, orthopaedic conditions, musculoskeletal conditions,
sports injuries, paediatric outpatients, long term conditions (including cerebral palsy and
dystrophies), developmental conditions, developmental delays and normal variants. Whilst working for Barts and the London NHS Trust, Belinda was promoted to Clinical Lead forĀ Community Physiotherapy and was privileged to lead this dynamic team for 11 years.

Belinda moved to Perth, Australia with her husband and three children in 2019 and gained
experience in paediatric private practice with a focus on rehabilitating her patients to their
optimum function. She found this tremendously rewarding and it further solidified her focus
on family centred care and her functional emphasis on treatment. Belinda believes that
parents are the experts on their children and that her role is to support parents in helping
their children achieve their own personal physical potential.

Special Interests: Belinda enjoys providing early intervention to babies and infants and has
special interests in supporting children with developmental conditions such as cerebral palsy
and neuromuscular conditions; as well as children and teenagers with musculoskeletal
conditions, sports injuries or chronic pain. Belinda has found that being a mother of three
sporty children has impacted her treatment style and broadened her professional interests in sport related injuries.

Belinda has completed her NDT training and Advanced Bobath trainings, as well as numerous courses in the treatment and management of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and developmental conditions. Belinda has conducted training for therapists and support staff on motor learning and cerebral palsy in the UK and in Kenya, Africa.
